
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jimenez (born 2 September 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actor and film producer. She started her career in Mexico with leading roles in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she won an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were just among her numerous Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002), which she also wrote, made her the first Mexican actress to be recognized for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek was a part of the action-oriented Once Upon a Time in Mexico films in the following years and concentrated more on producing.
